FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Hundreds of people came out for Mon National Day at South Side High School Saturday afternoon.
The event celebrates Burmese culture. It included traditional Mon dancing, singing, and food.
“We have a lot of kids raised here and they’re born here and we really want them to know about our culture and about our Mon identity and Mon language,” Aung Tun, the event organizer, said.
Fort Wayne has one of the largest Burmese populations in the country.
