Heroin team busts two in Ohio

CELINA, Ohio (WANE)  Police arrested two people on separate drug related crimes with help from a special department, the Heroin Interdiction Team. The team is a combination of Celina police and Mercer County Sheriff’s deputies.

On Wednesday, police arrested Tyla M. Granger, 21, of Celina, Ohio after they found several drug related items during a vehicle search. Granger was pulled over around 1:50 p.m. for a traffic violation at US Route 127.  The following is a list of items police confiscated:

  • 9 capsules of suspected heroin
  • 4 empty capsules
  • 2 prescription pill bottles containing drugs commonly used for depression and seizures.
  • $200
  • A loaded BB gun was also found in the glove box.

Granger was arrested on an outstanding bench warrant for domestic violence and was also charged with possession of heroin, driving under suspension, and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

Later Wednesday night, police stopped a vehicle on State Route 219. Alan Bricher, 22, of Coldwater was arrested on a probation violation. Officers located a large bag of marijuana and a bottle filled with capsules with and unknown substance inside of them. Police also seized more than $350 in cash from him.
