NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – A Noblesville High School choir teacher has been charged with child seduction of two Noblesville High School choir students.
Charges were filed against Michael Douce, including burglary, child seduction, child exploitation and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
An arrest warrant was issued. However, police believe Douce will surrender himself to the Hamilton County Jail.
Court documents show that Douce was having relationships with minors in 2014.
Detectives say they confiscated one victim’s phone and found several explicit pictures and graphic text messages sent from Douce.
According to court documents, a victim told detectives in an interview that the relationship began with text messages over winter break. After returning from winter break the student said Douce kissed her inside a light booth inside the school. The victim told police the relationship became more sexual between January and the summer of 2014.
The victim stated that they continued their relationship at Douce’s home while his wife was gone for three to four days.
Court documents also show the relationship resumed in the fall of 2014. The victim stated sexual contact was only made at school after school hours and that they had sexual contact between 30 to 50 times.
The victim told detectives that their last encounter was at her home in Noblesville.
Noblesville schools sent out a statement regarding the incident:
Mr. Douce’s employment with Noblesville Schools has officially been terminated for inappropriate conduct. We removed Mr. Douce from student contact as soon as we become aware of this situation in December, and have provided counseling services for all students in his class. Having first brought this matter to the attention of Noblesville Police, we worked aggressively during their investigation, and appreciate their dedication during this time.
We are angry with Mr. Douce for violating our trust, and more importantly the trust of his students. We are saddened for the victims impacted by his actions, and our thoughts go out to them and their families.
An initial hearing for Douce will be scheduled following his booking into jail.
