Shooting victim upgraded to fair condition

Police are investigating an apparent shooting that happened Sunday afternoon.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A shooting Sunday afternoon sent a man to a hospital in serious condition, according to Fort Wayne Police Dispatch.

Around 2:30 p.m., police responded to the BP gas station at Calhoun Street and Rudisill Boulevard, which is two blocks west of South Clinton Street. Police later confirmed the victim was actually shot at the Phillips 66 lot down the road at Rudisill and Barr Street. He drove across the parking lot to the Little Caesars lot and hit a vehicle before driving to the BP. Witnesses told police they saw a maroon vehicle leave from the Phillips 66 at the time of the shooting.

NewsChannel 15 was told the victim was transported to a hospital in serious condition, but has since been upgraded to fair condition. Police said the victim had gunshot wounds to his shoulder and forearm.

Police haven’t made any arrests in the case.
