FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Anytime Fitness has closed three Fort Wayne locations.
A recorded message at the company’s downtown location indicated the downtown Fort Wayne, Chapel Ridge, and Time Corners locations closed at the holidays. The message didn’t specify which holiday, but it did direct members to speak with staff members about membership options prior to December 23.
Anytime Fitness spokesman Mark Daly said the three Fort Wayne closures are, “rare and isolated.” Daly said the three franchises were owned by the same person who chose to close the clubs and leave the Anytime Fitness franchise system.
In November, a location at Georgetown Square pointed members to go to locations at Chapel Ridge and downtown, which have now closed.
“The good news is that several well-run Anytime Fitness clubs are located not far from the clubs that are no longer open,” Daly said in an email.
The company’s website lists several locations in northeast Indiana and additional Fort Wayne locations on Dupont Road and West Jefferson Boulevard.
Members who have not spoken with staff members about their membership are directed to contact ABC Financial at (888) 622-6290. Daly said current members of closed clubs can transfer their memberships to any Anytime Fitness center.
Daly said fewer than 2 percent of the company’s franchises close each year.
