Armed man arrested after road rage incident

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – One man was arrested after a road rage incident spanning several counties. Indiana State Police said a report came in just before 10:30 Friday night of a man in a car on I-65 pointing a gun at another driver on the road.

The incident happened two miles north of the U.S. 231 exit in Jasper County. Police say Trooper Ben Rector of the Indiana State Police Lafayette Post saw the suspect vehicle driving southbound on I-65 in Tippecanoe County.

The driver, 69-year-old Gerald W. Winston, of Indianapolis, was arrested without incident. Winston was preliminarily charged with criminal recklessness with a handgun and pointing a firearm at another person. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
