After split with Drive, ‘Ants head to Sioux Falls

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Mad Ants don’t have much time to reflect on their weekend split with the Grand Rapids Drive. The team is back in action on Tuesday night with a game at Sioux Falls.

‘Ants Head Coach Conner Henry told NewsChannel 15 Monday at practice that he liked the improvement rookie guard C.J. Fair has shown over the last seven to 10 days.

Fair, who is the only rookie player on the roster, has started eight of the Mad Ants’ 12 games this season. He is averaging a little more than 8.5 points per game.

“He’s an important piece for us,” said Henry. “He’s our only rookie. He’s come in and worked really hard and I think you’re starting to see the benefits of it.”

Fair scored six points in Saturday’s 101-87 home win over Grand Rapids.

The Mad Ants are 6-6 on the year, but have never been over .500 this winter.

The Skyforce and Mad Ants have split their two previous meetings this season. The road team won each game.
