FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The annual SAC basketball tournament tips-off Tuesday, December 23. The Parkview Sports Medicine SAC Holiday Basketball Tournament will take place at Wayne High School this winter. The bracket was released Wednesday afternoon.
For the boys tournament, the top-seeded Snider Panthers will face Bishop Luers at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday. Bishop Dwenger, who is the fourth seed, will square off with Northrop at 1:45 p.m. The 5:15 p.m. game features two-seeded North Side and South Side. Concordia and Wayne play Tuesday at 8:45.
The semi-finals take place at approximately 6:30 and 8:15 Friday evening, with the championship game slated for 7 p.m. Saturday night.
Concordia is this year’s top seed for the girl’s tourney. The Cadets take on North Side in the first game Tuesday, which begins at 8 a.m. At noon, four-seeded Bishop Dwenger faces South Side. The two-seeded Snider Panthers play at 3:30 p.m. against Northrop. The final girls game Tuesday tips-off at 7 p.m., when Wayne takes on Bishop Luers.
The girls semi-finals are also Friday. The first contest begins at 3 p.m. and the second begins at 4:45 p.m.
The girls championship game is at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon.
Pre-sale tickets will not be available. The doors will open each day one hour prior to the start of the first game with all tickets costing $6.
A pass for all games can be purchased for $20 at the doors. The passes will only be sold on Tuesday, December 23.
Pre-school children can get into the games for free.
