Santa Train carries on railroad tradition

Santa Train takes off from the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society three Saturdays in December.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Santa stopped by the Fort Wayne Railroad Society Saturday and took a ride on a 1950s locomotive. Kelly Lynch, communications director with the organization, told NewsChannel 15 about the importance of carrying on the railroad tradition.

Lynch said the Santa Train event provides the community with an opportunity to create new memories and honor the old ones. He spoke about the importance of this event and how it inspired generations for years in the video provided above.

The vintage caboose took passengers on 20 minute train rides starting from its facility at 15808 Edgerton Road in New Haven. Rides with Santa will also be available the next two Saturdays, December 13 and 20. Tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for children. Tickets can be purchased online at the society’s website.
