MARION, Ind. (WANE) – Marion General Hospital will layoff 69 employees beginning Feb. 1, 2015 as the hospital executes strategic initiatives that will outsource the hospital’s surgical services operations to a third party.
The announcement was made public in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification filed with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
The hospital said the transition to contracted services will take place between Feb. 1 and Feb. 14 and the layoffs are expected to be permanent.
The notice listed the hospital’s main address, 441 North Wabash Avenue.
The notice did not list specific positions being terminated or if the affected employees would have opportunities elsewhere within the hospital group.
Marion General has several locations throughout Grant County.
