Payne, Jenkins Provide Presence For Mad Ants

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – After being assigned to the Mad Ants last week by the Atlanta Hawks Adreian Payne and John Jenkins are making the most of their time in the Summit City.

The duo played in two games last week for Fort Wayne and are expected to play in all four games this week – including Sunday’s contest against Westchester – before heading back to the Hawks.

Payne, a former Michigan State star, is currently in his second stint with the Mad Ants this season. He tallied a combined 28 points and 25 rebounds over the last two games. Jenkins, a sharp-shooting guard, is averaging 22 points per night in his two games with the Ants.

Payne and Jenkins are just part of the scoring punch the Ants have recently added. NBA veteran Dahntay Jones signed with the Ants last week, while Glen Rice, Jr. is still currently on assignment from the NBA’s Washington Wizards.

The Ants host Iowa at 7 p.m. on Tuesday night at War Memorial Coliseum.
