FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – One person escaped a house fire in Fort Wayne Saturday evening.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department was called to 6629 Trier Road at 5:10 p.m. The first crew arrived at 5:12 p.m. and said smoke was coming from the attic. Crews had the fire out in 15 minutes and had to cut out a large section of the ceiling and remove insulation to make sure there were no hot spots that could reignite.
One person was home at the time, but got out of the home safely before firefighters arrived. No one was hurt in the fire. The cause is still under investigation.
