FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The 63rd annual Christ Child Festival kicks off Saturday stressing the importance of the real meaning of Christmas. The event was started in 1951 to keep Christ in Christmas and was held in cities in across the country. Over time, many of the festivals were canceled, but organizers said Fort Wayne is one of the only cities that still offers free admission.
Christmas in the Park will feature music, poetry, a live nativity scene, Christmas carols, food and crafts. The event is Saturday, November 29 and Sunday, November 30 from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at Franke Park. There is no admission cost.
