WABASH COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – The visitation and funeral for a 39-year-old North Manchester police officer killed in a car crash is set for Thursday, November 20.
David Rigney, who was off-duty at the time, was killed in a crash with a bus and another car on Monday. Rigney was pronounced dead at the scene. The loss hit family and the police department hard. He was one of only 11 officers in North Manchester and is remembered for having a big heart for his family and community.
Visitation for Rigney will be held 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday at LaFontaine Christian Church, 202 Bruner Pike, LaFontaine. Funeral services will start after that at 11 a.m. Anyone interested in making donations can make them to the Dalayna and Bryce Rigney Education Fund.

Rigney leaves behind a wife, a daughter in 7th grade, and a son in elementary school.
This crash is still under investigation, but as of Wednesday evening, neither the use of alcohol nor drugs was suspected as having contributed to the crash. All drivers in the crash were wearing seat belts.
