Snider Gearing Up For Semi-State Against LaPorte

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – The Snider football team is just one win away from a second trip to Lucas Oil Stadium in three years with only LaPorte standing in the way on Friday night.
The Panthers (10-2) face the Slicers (7-5) at 7:30 p.m. at Spuller Stadium in 5A semi-state action.
Snider is coming off a 32-24 win at Westfield in regionals last week. Jessie Bates came up with two key turnovers and Neandre Billingsley scored two rushing touchdowns in the final three minutes of regulation to complete a comeback that saw the Panthers down 21-13 at the half.
LaPorte is coming off a 55-21 win against Elkhart Central last week in which the Slicers dominated the game from the get-go. LaPorte scored 28 points in the first quarter and tallied touchdowns on seven of their first eight possessions. The Slicers racked up 435 total rushing yards in the game.
