FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) A Fort Wayne Police Officer who is accused of stealing hundreds of dollars from a non-profit organization will no longer be paid while on his suspension.

Barry Roos will not receive pay while suspended after the board of safety voted Thursday afternoon. Police believe Roos took money out of the non-profit, Blue Knights, while he served as its treasurer and secretary. Investigators said Roos took the funds in separate incidents throughout the course of about a year.

Roos apparently admitted to police that he withdrew $700 in July of 2013 to cover repairs to his personal car. He re-deposited $600 in December of 2013, however, he couldn’t remember what happened to the remaining $100.

The Blue Knights is a non-profit motorcycle group made up of active and retired law enforcement officers. Roos served as a treasurer for four years. He resigned as treasurer and secretary on July 4, 2014.
