FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A six-car crash shut down all northbound lanes of I-469 at the 25 mile marker, near Maysville Road, on Thursday morning. At about 10:30 a.m., police were allowing cars through the emergency lane and by the afternoon, all lanes appeared to be open and moving.

In addition to the six-car crash that happened at about 9:30 a.m., Indiana State Police also reported multiple secondary crashes in both directions.

Police on the scene said three people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

According to the Allen County Sheriff’s Department, a UPS truck driving south hit the median wall, causing a chain reaction crash in the northbound lanes. A Jeep and minivan driving north crashed into each other and shortly after that a FedEx truck slammed into the back of a semi. Another minivan then crashed into the semi and the FedEx truck.

Police don’t know yet what caused the UPS driver to hit the median.
