County’s meth busting efforts net three in separate incidents

KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department arrested three people on methamphetamine charges in separate incidents this week.

On Monday, deputies responded to County Road 450 North and Brown Road following reports of a suspicious vehicle. When police arrived, a man fled while a passenger, Nicole Lynn Winstead, 27, of Claypool was arrested. Winstead was preliminarily charged with dealing methamphetamine, possession of meth precursors and manufacturing methamphetamine after deputies found a portable meth lab inside the vehicle. Winstead also had an active misdemeanor warrant for theft.

Officers were able to identify the man who ran away as Kane Edward Hively, 27, of Warsaw. Hively turned himself into the Kosciusko County Jail Thursday around noon. He was preliminarily arrested on felony charges of dealing methamphetamine and fleeing law enforcement.

On Wednesday, officers were told about a residence that had an odor associated with the production of methamphetamine. While investigating the residence, Billy Laurance Baldridge, 41 of Mentone returned to his home. Baldridge was arrested and preliminarily charged with felony manufacturing methamphetamine after officers found a meth lab inside his residence. Baldrige is being held on bond at the Kosciusko County Jail.
