Auburn business being sued for discrimination

AUBURN, Ind. (WANE) A business out of Auburn is being sued for discrimination. According to the Indiana Civil Right Commission, M & M Stump and Tree removal was called by an African American man from Allen county in response to an advertisement for “free estimates” and “tree work.”

In a press release, the business reportedly refused service to him. Someone with the company left a voice mail saying the company had the right to refuse service and that they did not work in the “inner city”. The voice mail also contained a racial slur.

Several days later, M & M did business at a neighbor’s home, that neighbor is white.
