FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Six local volleyball teams brought home the hardware on Tuesday night, as regional championships were up for grabs all across the state.
In 4A play, NHC rivals Homestead and Carroll met as the Chargers won 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-19) to improve to 32-4 on the season. Carroll advances to face Elkhart Memorial at 11 a.m. Saturday at Huntington North in semi-state semifinal play.
In 3A it was Bellmont over Muncie Central 3-2 (24-26, 25-19, 18-25, 25-18, 15-13). The Squaws now move on to play New Prairie at 11 a.m. at Twin Lakes high school in the semi-state semifinals. Concordia will also play at Twin Lakes this weekend, as the Cadets beat Fairfield 3-0 (25-18, 25-11, 25-7) on Tuesday night behind 13 kills from Tionna Williams. The Cadets now face Mishawaka Marian at 1 p.m. Saturday.
2A action saw Adams Central sweep Westview 3-0 (25-12, 25-17, 31-29) and Southwood beat Clinton Central 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 25-23). Adams Central and Southwood will now square off in semi-state semifinals play at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Bremen.
In 1A play it was Blackhawk Christian sweeping Triton 3-0 (25-20, 25-10, 25-21). Blackhawk advances to play at Caston on Saturday against Pioneer at 11 a.m.
