Gunman arrested for shooting at home with children

CELINA, Ohio. (WANE) A man was charged for firing several rounds into a home with two adults and two young children inside, according to the Celina Police Department.

According to the police report, on Sunday officers responded to a report of shots fired at 417 North Brandon Ave. When police arrived they found that someone fired seven rounds into the house. Police did not report any injuries to the adults or children.

Police spent the night investigating and found evidence for a search warrant for Danny L. Williams and his house on 751 Deford St. in Celina. Police tested Williams’ hands for gunshot residue. Police also found two firearms, one of which was consistent with evidence from the crime scene.

Williams not only resisted the search warrant but also struggled with officers while he was arrested. An officer suffered minor injuries from the arrest. He is being held in the Mercer County Jail on a $75,000 cash bond. Williams was charged with two counts of a felony assault and one count of discharging a firearm into a home.
