Driver thrown after moped hits pole

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) A DeKalb County man was treated at a hospital for injuries he suffered after crashing his moped early Monday morning.

According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department, Ronald L. Rodman, 54, of Auburn was traveling south on County Road 23 south of County Road 48 at around 6:10 am when he failed to negotiate a curve and drove off the road where he hit an old concrete railroad utility pole. The impact sent Rodman about 15 feet where he landed on the ground. Rodman suffered bruises and a cut to his forehead. Police say he was not wearing a helmet. He was taken by DeKalb EMS to Parkview Regional Medical Center for treatment.
