FORT WAYNE, IN. (WANE) – Carroll continued it’s cross country dominance at semi-state on Saturday held at The Plex.
The Charger boys ran away from the field, finishing with a team score of 58, well ahead of second place Mt. Vernon (132). Carroll placed three runners in the top ten, including Cameron Clements who won the individual race in a time of 15:30.04, with teammate Jacob Schmelling finishing in third, just 16 seconds behind. West Noble and East Noble both advanced as a team to state as well.
In the girls race, Carroll finished in second behind Penn. Homestead, Huntington North and Northridge all advanced in the team competition as well. DeKalb’s Tyler Schwartz was the highest individual finisher from the area, placing 5th with a time of 18:49.49.
