FORT WAYNE, IN. (WANE) – Dozens of sectional championships were handed out across the state in high school volleyball on Saturday, that includes a pair of 4A crowns in Fort Wayne. Behind dominating and balanced performances, both Carroll and Homestead earned sectional titles in 3-0 fashion. The Chargers jumped out quickly in the opening set in at Snider High School to roll to a sweep over East Noble. Homestead followed suit in the South Side sectional, downing Huntington North in straight sets.
In 3A, defending state runner-up Concordia trounced Leo behind another big performance from Tionna Williams. The Cadets held serve at home, defeating the Lions 3-0. Fairfield won it’s sectional championship in similar 3-0 fashion over NorthWood.
In 2A, Adams Central (3-0 over Eastside) and Westview (3-2 over Central Noble) both captured sectional championships. Blackhawk Christian swept Bethan Christian 3-0 to capture a 1A sectional crown.
