Santa’s helper wins Halloween costume contest

A reindeer named Candy Cane won the Halloween costume contest.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Four-legged friends were getting in the Halloween spirit in Fort Wayne on Saturday.

Rural King hosted a pet costume contest. NewsChannel 15’s Gina Glaros helped judged the event.

An eight-year-old reindeer named Candy Cane won this year’s contest with her camp fire costume.

“The idea originally came from when we were at a camp fire and we heard that this was coming up so we thought maybe we could turn it into a costume and so we could use the antlers as the sticks and it ended up working out really well,” Jirni Chripe, Candy Cane’s owner, said.

Chripe said her family farm is home to more than 200 animals.
