GSOC: Canterbury Advances to State, Carroll’s Run Ends

FORT WAYNE, IN. (WANE) – It’s become common place for Canterbury to be playing for a state soccer championship – this year it will be the girls representing in Indianapolis. The Cavaliers blanked Wheeler 2-0 on Saturday afternoon and followed that up with a 1-0 win over West Lafayette in the semi-state championship match. Canterbury (13-6-1) will meet Evansville Mater Dei (17-4-2) in the 1A state championship match next Saturday at Carroll Stadium.

In 2A, Carroll managed a 1-0 win over Goshen in the morning session, but came up short in a 1-0 overtime loss to Fishers in the semi-state championship match. The Chargers season ends with a spectacular 19-3-1 record.
