WARSAW, IN (WANE) – Homestead’s postseason run came to a heartbreaking end on Saturday night in Warsaw. The Spartans fell to Goshen in a shootout (4-3) that saw their season end with a 14-6-2 record in the 2A semi-state championship match. Homestead’s run included an upset of area powerhouse Canterbury in the regional finals and a 2-0 shutout of Harrison earlier in the day to advance to the semi-state finals.
In 1A action, Blackhawk Christian saw its run come to an end during the morning semi-final session with a 4-1 loss to a Guerin Catholic team that is now 21-2 and a perfect 9-0 on neutral fields. The Braves season ends with a 10-8-4 mark.
