Robbery suspect dies after police-involved shooting in Indy

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Police say a robbery suspect shot by an Indiana Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officer Saturday night has died.

According to IMPD, they were called about a robbery in progress at the GameStop in the 3700 block of South East Street around 9:15 p.m. Saturday.

When officers got to the scene, they found three masked men robbing the store.

When police made contact with the suspects, one of them ran, another pointed a gun at officers.

When the suspect pointed the gun at them, that’s when police say officers shot him in the torso.

The other two suspects were arrested.

The suspect was sent to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition, where he later died from his injuries.

Police are not releasing the names of the suspects or the officers involved, as they continue to investigate the incident.

The officers in the incident have been placed on administrative leave.
