BSOC: Homestead, Blackhawk Advance To Semi-State

FORT WAYNE, IN. (WANE) – Homestead’s Brendan Spangler faced five shots but didn’t allow a single one to pass on Saturday as the Spartans handed Canterbury a 1-0 loss to a capture a 2A regional championship at Carroll High School. After a scoreless first half, David Rincon set up Sam Barron in the 46th minute for the only goal of the afternoon as Homestead upset the powerful Cavs. The Spartans meet Harrison next Saturday at Warsaw High School.

Blackhawk Christian punched it’s ticket to semi-state in 1A action with a 2-0 win over host Westview on Saturday as well. The Braves will meet Guerin Catholic next Saturday in LaVille.
