Allen Co. Sheriff honored for dedication to serving the community

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Allen County Sheriff Ken Fries was honored by Life Bridge Church Sunday. The church wanted to thank Fries for his service to Allen County before he retires .

“He gives us a place where we can feel safe and secure,” Life Bridge Community Church member, Bill Campbell said.

Also attending the ceremony was Congressman Marlin Stutzman. Fries was thanked for his last eight years of service as Allen County Sheriff.

“I think as most policeman, I just come out and try and do my job the best I can every day. I can tell you the one thing I have learned throughout my career is that there are more good people in this world than bad,” Fries said.  “I think this church is a prime example of that. These are all really good people that are here and really care and want to make a difference.” .

Fries was also given the Distinguished Hoosier Award.
