CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) – The Carmel Police Department released video Friday showing the arrest of Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay.

The 60 minute video was taken from a squad car-mounted dash camera seven months ago, as Irsay was stopped for suspicion of operating while intoxicated.

The release came in response to a public records request made by 24-Hour News 8 and other media outlets. The request was originally made following Irsay’s arrest in March 2014, but was initially denied, as city attorneys deemed the tape to be part of an ongoing investigation.

In September, Irsay pleaded guilty to one misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated. 24-Hour News 8 resubmitted its request for the video following the conclusion of the case.

Irsay was arrested in March on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance. He was discovered in his vehicle, stopped in the middle of the road for no apparent reason ahead of his arrest, according to court documents obtained by 24-Hour News 8.

Irsay was carrying about a dozen pill bottles and $29,029 in cash at the time of the traffic stop, according to a police report.

According to the report, Irsay’s vehicle was traveling 10 mph in a 35 mph hour zone on Main Street west of Ditch Road. The officer pulled Irsay over, and conducted field sobriety tests, which are depicted on the dash cam video.
