BSOC: Canterbury, Homestead Advance To 2A Regional Title Game

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Canterbury and Homestead will go head-to-head for the 2A regional championship on Saturday as both won their regional semifinals match Thursday night at Carroll high school.
In the first game of the night Canterbury led 4-1 at half before going on to win 10-3. Ryley DeJong led the way for the Cavaliers with three goals while Brennan Cochran scored two for the Barons. Canterbury improves to 16-2-1 on the year while DeKalb’s season ends at 18-1.
In the nightcap it Homestead scored twice in the second half on the way to a 2-0 victory. David Rincon and Adam Swiatkowski scored just 20 seconds apart in the 63rd minute for the Spartans. Homestead improves to 11-5-2 on the season while Wayne’s season ends at 4-8-6.
The Spartans and Cavaliers will meet at 2 p.m. Saturday for the regional championship.
In 1A regional semifinals action at Westview high school it was Blackhawk over the Bishop Luers 3-1 in the early game. In the late game, Westview blanked Lakewood Park 3-0. The Braves and Warriors will now square off in the regional title match Saturday at 2 p.m.
