2 people hurt helping threatened Bloomington woman

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) — Two people suffered knife wounds in Bloomington after they came to the aid of a woman was being threatened by a man with the weapon.

Police officers searched for that man in a wooded area on the city’s west side for more than two hours after Wednesday evening’s attack, but didn’t immediately find the man.

Police tells The Herald Times (http://bit.ly/11s2Tif ) the injured man and woman were both alert when then were taken to a Bloomington hospital. They suffered wounds to their sides and arms.

A woman told the newspaper she was retrieving a package from her mailbox when a man on a bicycle grabbed her from behind, put a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her. Others came out of their apartments after the woman screamed.
