Report says ink pen ruptured girl’s eardrum

North Side High School

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  A student at North Side High School says a classmate ruptured her eardrum when he stuck a pen in her ear.

According to a police report, the incident happened October 9 in a geometry classroom at the school. The girl said the boy got up from his chair and walked to the front of the room to get a pen. As he walked back to his seat, he stuck it in her right ear. He reportedly pulled the pen out of her ear, wiped it on her arm, and told her, “You can have your ear wax back.”

She told police she and the other student hadn’t had an argument before the incident. She didn’t tell anyone about it until she got home from school and complained to her mother that her ear hurt. The girl’s mother told investigators that the emergency room staff said her right eardrum was ruptured.
