NORTH LIBERTY, Ind. (AP) — State conservation officers are looking for more information about the illegal taking of a whitetail deer from Potato Creek State Park near South Bend.
The Department of Natural Resources reports that the deer was shot sometime between Sunday night or Monday morning. The male deer’s head was removed, and conservation officers found the body. With the help of a police dog, officers recovered some evidence at the scene.
Officers said Monday they do not yet have a suspect. They are offering a reward to anyone with information.
The DNR says anyone with information on any poaching incidents can call 1-800-TIP-IDNR.
