Police search for pizza shop robber

The Lexy's pizza store on Spring Street was robbed on Monday, October 6, 2014

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) An armed robber had a pizza shop employee put cash in a bag late Monday evening before fleeing the store.

According to Fort Wayne police, an employee of Lexy’s Pizza, located at 908 Spring Street, was outside the store smoking a cigarette when the robber came up behind him and pulled a gun. The robber then told the employee to go into the store. The employee told police that the robber crouched down next to the carryout counter so he couldn’t be seen and told the employee to put all the money in the cash register into a gray plastic bag. The robber then ran out the front door.

The suspect is described as a white male, between 5’7″ and 5’9″ tall with a stocky build. He was wearing a maroon hooded sweatshirt, dark pants, possibly blue jeans and he had a red bandana over his mouth an lower face. He was carrying a black or gunmetal blue semi-automatic handgun.

The employee’s daughter was working as a delivery person and also witnessed the robbery.
