Haunted houses open and ready to scare

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) The Haunted Castle and Black Forest  haunted houses have been spooking residence since 1980. This weekend both haunted houses open for the fall season.

The Haunted Castle is located in a building next to the St. Vincent Scout Lodge. The castle has two slides and several haunting scenes.

The Black Forest’s outdoor house winds through the woods along Beckett’s Run Creek. The Haunted Castle website said it takes about 30 minutes to walk through it.

Both houses are produced and staffed by youth and adults with the St. Vincent’s Boy Scouts.

The haunted houses are located at 8965 Auburn Rd. The Haunted Castle opens at 7 p.m. each night and the Black Forest opens when dark.

Friday and Saturday hours: 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Thursday and Sunday hours: 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Tickets are $10 each for either the Haunted Castle or the Black Forest.  People can purchase a ticket for both of the houses for $16.

Save a $1 by bringing in a non- perishable Food or paper item for the St. Vincent food pantry.

The last day to visit the Haunted Castle and Black Forest is November 1.
