FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)- Fort Wayne’s Legacy Joint Funding Committee got the chance to meet for the first time Tuesday evening.
The group -which currently consists of three members of Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry’s administration, three members of the Fort Wayne City Council, and two citizen members- is in charge of making recommendations on how to spend the city’s millions of dollars of Legacy money, which the city gained access to when it agreed to sell its light lease to Indiana Michigan Power several years ago.
On Tuesday, the group started coming up with a list of citizen nominees who could possibly fill the committee’s ninth and final position.
The group hopes to select its final member a week from Wednesday.
