FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A manager was held at gunpoint while closing up Hungry Howie’s early Sunday morning.
Police were called to the pizza place at 6410 W. Jefferson around 1:45 a.m. The manager told police he had locked the front door and was dropping food off in his car before going back into the store to close up when a heard a voice say “Don’t turn and look at me or I’ll shoot you.” He then felt what he assumed was a gun pressed up against his back.
The manager said the suspect first demanded money from him, which he didn’t have, and then told him to go inside and get all the cash out of the register. The manager handed the suspect an envelope of cash that had that night’s deposit in. The manager said the suspect punched the right side of his face as he went to hand over the envelope.
The manager told police that the suspect stayed behind him the entire time, but he was able to get a quick glance while in the store. He said the suspect was holding a black handgun and was wearing gray gloves, dark pants, and a dark hoodie with something hiding his face.
