Utility pole broken in minor-injury accident

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A woman walked away with only minor injuries after crashing into a utility pole on Wednesday.

The accident happened at about 11:30 a.m. on West State Boulevard between Hillegas and Leesburg Roads. Officials on the scene said the woman driving was not wearing a seat belt and got stuck under the car’s dashboard. Fire rescue crews were able to get her out of the car and she only suffered minor injuries.

Power crews were on the scene to ascertain the damage done to the utility pole.
