US Marshalls arrest sex offender in Ohio

STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – United States Marshals Service along with Williams County Sheriff’s Office and the Edon Police Department in Ohio arrested a man who was wanted after he failed to register as a sex offender in Steuben County, Indiana.

An arrest warrant was first issued on August 27 for 26-year-old Corey A. Witsman after he allegedly violated the terms of his probation. Detectives could not locate Witsman and another warrant was issued on September 23 for failure to register as a sex or violent offender.

Witsman was taken into custody just before 3 p.m. on Thursday at the 600 block of Mikemoore Drive in Edon, Ohio. Witsman was booked into the Corrections Center of Norhtwest Ohio and remains held awaiting extradition back to Steuben County.

Witsman was convicted in 2013 for sexual misconduct with a minor.
