Second victim in Sunday shooting identified

Police are investigating a shooting where two people were found inside this house.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A man who was injured in the Sunday night shooting that left another dead has been identified by Fort Wayne Police. Thirty-year-old James W. Armstrong, from Arizona, is in fair condition Tuesday after being seriously injured in the weekend shooting.

Alan John Puff, 21, from Fort Wayne, was killed in the shooting in the 600 block of East Rudisill Boulevard. His death has been ruled a homicide, the 12th in Allen County in 2014.

When officers arrived just before 1 a.m., they found two men inside a home who had apparently been shot. Puff was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but later died. Armstrong was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

Investigators aren’t sure if the shooting happened inside or outside the home. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the Fort Wayne Police Department at (260) 427-1222 or Crime Stoppers at (260) 436-7867.

No arrests have been made in the investigation.
