Indiana Voters app

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  Indiana residents will now be able to register to vote using their mobile device. Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson announced a new mobile voter registration app in hopes that more Hoosiers will register to vote.

The app has several features including:  Allows users to register to vote or confirm their voter registration, look up polling place, getting driving directions to their polling location, find out who’s on their ballot, track absentee ballot application or provisional ballot information and contact local election officials.

“The Indiana Voters App is the next phase of this office embracing technology to improve customer service and citizen engagement,” said Secretary Lawson. “I encourage all Hoosiers to take advantage of this new app and check their registration today.”

When using the app to register to vote, a driver license or state ID number is needed.

Apple users can access the application via iTunes and android users can access the application via the mobile store by searching “Indiana Voters.”

The app comes out just in time for National Voter Registration Day on September 23, which promotes voter participation this fall. Since National Voter Registration Day started in 2012 more than 356,000 Americans have been registered to vote.
