FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Fort Wayne Community Schools (FWCS) announced Wednesday that the district will no long use Nixle as a means to send messages to parents, faculty, students and others.
Nixle is commonly used by public safety agencies, local governments and school districts. Nixle subscribers can sign up for emails or text alerts.
FWCS says the decision to discontinue NIxle is part of an effort to streamline its notification process.
Those who want to sign up for text alerts should provide their cell phone number to the appropriate school and asked to be included in SchoolReach text notifications. People can also download the FWCS app for iOS or Android or they can follow FWCS on Twitter or Facebook.
