WSOC: USF Blanks Marygrove 3-0

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Saint Francis improved to 3-1-1 on the season with a 3-0 win Wednesday night at Bishop D’Arcy Stadium over Marygrove College.
USF scored just 43 seconds into the match on a 30-yard strike from Snider graduate Sarah Freygang. Heather Jones would convert a penalty kick in the 22nd minute while Summer Holtkamp’s goal in the 49th minute set the final at 3-0.
Morgan Hammon and Sammi Scaringelli both played 45 minutes to split the shutout for USF. Hammon made two saves in the first half, while Scaringelli – a Homestead high school grad – made one save in the second half.
Next up for USF is a date at St. Xavier in Chicago on Saturday at 6 p.m.
