FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Thursday marks the thirteenth anniversary of September 11. The Fort Wayne Fire Department along with Allen County Public Safety invites residents to stop by the Law Enforcement Firefighters Memorial of Allen County to remember 9/11.
From 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., people are welcome to place an American flag in the grassy area around the memorial at 1001 North Wells St. While there will not be a formal ceremony taking place Thursday, the Fort Wayne Fire and Police Pipe and Drum Corps will be playing at 6 p.m.
The event is part of Allen County’s public safety effort to remember that day. The memorial not only honors the 403 public safety personal that have lost their lives, but also those who died in service on 9/11.
