FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE)  Friday morning Trine University celebrated its new Doctoral of Physical Therapy program with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the new health Sciences Education Center by Parkview Radallia.

Trine welcomed its first groups of students with a white coat ceremony at the newly renovated facility. “We are so proud of our new physical therapy program and newly renovated Health Sciences Education Center,” Earl D. Brooks II, Ph.D., Trine president said. “It’s an exciting new chapter for Trine University and I hope visitors will take this opportunity to see what we have to offer.”

Trine’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program was granted candidacy status in late July from the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).

Students will have the opportunity to work with regional partners, including Parkview Health, Lutheran Network and Turnstone to access professional and clinical experiences.

Classes began for the students August 26.
