Recycle hazardous waste on Tox-Away Day

Tox-Away Day is on Saturday, September 12.

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) Household hazardous waste can damage health and the environment if not disposed of properly. Allen County Solid Waste Management is hosting its annual Tox-Away Day Saturday to allow residents the opportunity to safely dispose of unwanted household hazardous waste.

Resides of Allen County can take toxic products to the Former Navistar Tech Center on 2911 Meyers Rd. in Fort Wayne from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Last year, 27 tons of household waste was collected from Tox-Away Day.

The Allen County Solid Waste Management Distract asks that people leave all products in its original container and make sure products do not mix and labels are not removed.
