FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) Students from Heritage Park and Brentwood Elementary School lined State Boulevard with a ‘love chain’ on Friday. The chain stretched the street for about half a mile.
Fourth and fifth grade classes from the two schools started the chain on Valentine’s day of 2014, but because of weather and school tests the schools were unable to come together until now. School Councilor Case manager Marilyn Nolan said the schools started the project as a sign of unity in the community.
“This shows kids to be focused on more than family and friends, we need to focus on the community as well,” Nolan said.
