NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WANE) – A man is facing theft and burglary charges after a neighbor saw someone going in and out of parked vehicles early Thursday morning.

Before 5 a.m. on Thursday, a woman came out of her home in the 1600 block of Richfield Lane when her dog started barking. She saw a white Jeep in front of her house and saw someone going in and out of parked cars. She called police and when they arrived, they saw a man getting out of a vehicle and walking toward another one.

Police confronted the man, later identified as 23-year-old Ethan Luebke, and saw a cell phone cord hanging out of his pocket. Luebke admitted to stealing several items from vehicles in the Scarbourogh addition and an attached garage in the Pinestone addition, according to the release from police.

Luebke faces a felony count of theft, four misdemeanor counts of theft and four counts of unauthorized control of a motor vehicle.

All the items were returned to the owners.
